A Catch Up!

The last couple of years have been amazingly busy and seem to have flown by!

My Dad developed mixed dementia 4 years ago, a mix of Alzheimer and Vascular dementia, this makes life difficult for us and it must be a horrible place for him to be.  He is still at home but with almost full time care which is putting huge pressure on his financial resources.  Its not doing too much for me and Caroline and the girls either!

However we have been helping to develop a non invasive monitoring system called Howz!.  It is more cost effective than the other major players, Just Checking and Canary, and allows us to see on the mobile phone, what movement there is inside his house, see when the doors open and close (so we know when the carers arrive) and we can also see the temperature in the house.  Its a great system and works very well and is reliable.  As a result of the work we have put in we can now supply and fit the Howz system in almost any home.  So if you have an elderly relative who you would like to ensure they are safe, warm and well, give me a call and we can talk. 0788 7744 163 will get me.

This is the information tat you get from the Howz! App.

As a result, I need to be with him more and more, so the driving school has taken a back seat, this has its own issues as you can imagine.  Added to this, the fact the the websites have had huge issues, apparently being attacked and left for dead, we are now trying to get them back on track, but this is proving to be a very long and tedious process, so much so that I am now wondering if the websites are really worth all the bother.  Social media, Face Book, is where I get most of my work from, when I need it.

I Want to Tow could be great, but again I find it difficult to afford the care for Dad whilst I am out for 4 full days on trailer training courses.  The Shogun has now been sold and we have now, a Hyundai Terracan.  An amazing car / 4x4.  It does everything and does it all quite economically, about 34 mpg when towing, not too shabby.

The new, to us, Hyundai Terracan.  The new tow truck for I Want To Tow.

Dorset Car Club goes from strength to strength, with more members and more shows to go to. See the Dorset Car Club Face Book page for more information.

Dorset Car Club at Braemore House Classic Car Show.

We have had several "special sections" to the club which most seem to have gone as fast as they came into place!

The stationary engine section!  Made us all realise how much work goes into keeping these machines working.

My BSA stationary engine, powers a lathe and a man!!!

The sports car section, well Paul bought a  Celicia after I bought an MR2 (I still have it in the shed!) but he sold his.

2002 Toyota MR2, all ready for the summer!

However the trailer tent section is still alive and kicking.  We have mainly the hard top camper variety, and they are so easy to put up and take down.

Collection a Cardinal Clubman from the Black Country with the I Want to Tow Terracan

Black Country, the newest Clubman, but its 1988 model.

We will be keeping this Cardinal Clubman, its a 1990 and all up together, until something breaks!

So that is it for now, but I hopefully will be able to spend more time on this over the following months and years.
